Business Casual

Today was a very happy and sad day. Happy, because I was inducted into Kappa Delta Pi (Education Honor Society). Sad, because my lovely Colton was voted off American Idol. I had a little breakdown, but I will make it! He is a great musician, artist, and I know that God will order his steps. Can't wait to buy his CD. Yay!

Now, back to my induction. Tonight I became apart of a very special society full of ladies (and a few gentleman-ha!) that are all very near and dear to me! Yay Kappa Delta Pi!

Now, let's get down to business. The attire for the evening was "business casual". Whatttttt? What does that even mean! Sometimes when we attend events like this, it can be SO nerve wracking trying to find something to wear. You don't want to be too dressy, you don't want to be dressed down...what in the world do you wear! In fact, a lot of us girls had no clue what to wear tonight.

My suggestion is look as professional and conservative as possible. Dress pants are always a good choice. However, an appropriate dress, maybe with a blazer or cardigan, would look nice too. I love cardigans. I think that they pull outfits together so nicely. So, of course, this is my go-to choice. I'm also extremely girly, so at any special event, I feel the need to wear heels. I think that low heels would be appropriate, perhaps nothing taller than 3-4 inches. Pointed-toe heels are extremely sophisticated, as well as peep toes.

Here is what I wore:

Cardigan: Old Navy $20
Tank top: Old Navy $7
Pants: Rue 21 $8
Shoes: my beautiful friend Jessica (:
Necklace: Body Shop $3.95 (mentioned in my post yesterday!!)

So next time you have an event that requires something like, or similar to "business casual", remember to be professional and conservative. Classy...but sassy ;)
